Alan is a software developer based in Saint Louis, but with roots in Chicago.


Alan studied IT at College of DuPage before transferring to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to study Computer Management & Information Systems and Computer Science. He studied abroad through the SIUE School of Business and went to Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Beijing. He is a part of CAOS, the Computer Association of SIUE, which is a local chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery. An interdisciplinary background combining both information technology and programming stands out, when many people stick to just one or the other.

In addition to taking classes at SIUE, Alan is also independently learning information security concepts through Virtual Hacking Labs.


Nowadays, tech skills shouldn't be set in stone. Technology changes all the time, so it's important to be able to adapt to industry changes. It's extremely important to be able to quicky learn new languages, frameworks, and tools.
